The material kind of feels like little gel squares, but it’s not actually gel. It’s a pretty unique feeling — it’s super soft and flexible, but also very responsive.

Overall, in terms of feel, we’re huge fans of the Purple mattress. And a big part of that ranking is due to Purple’s special top layer. It’s super soft and comfortable, and does an incredible job ofcradling your pressure points(i.e. hips, shoulders).

As far as firmness, we’d give the mattress a 4.5/10 on our soft-to-firm scale so it’s definitely on the softer side of the spectrum. But don’t let that score fool you, the bed still provides quite a bit ofsupport，这说明了超弹性聚合物的独特作用。

The bottom line with Purple is that this bed has a highly unique feel to it that we haven’t experienced with any other bed. It’s comfortable, cool, responsive, and does a great job with limiting motion transfer.

It will take a little time to get used to this bed, but if you aren’t sold on memory foam or latex foam and want to try something new, Purple is a very good option. We don’t love their price points, but we do really like their bed.
